Our guest is Manda Ann Roddick, a PhD student in the Department of Sociology and a recipient of a 2010 Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship. The Vanier Scholarship will support Manda’s doctoral studies which will focus on youth and global social justice. During her MA, Manda travelled to Ghana to conduct research and to Mexico to participate in a course on Critical Development Studies. Manda has also volunteered with a variety of youth organizations in the past decade and these experiences contributed to her growing concern over youth involvement in international development. A PDF of Manda's Master's Thesis is available on UVic's DSpace at the following link: And more information about the Otesha Project mentioned on the show is available at the following link:

We play a recording of a conversation Joan Russow had with Stefano Zamagni, Economic Professor from the University of Bologna, where he speaks, among other things, about the concept of reciprocity. Thanks to Joan, Vancity, Lazarus Productions, and Modea Productions. The conversation was previously broadcast on Shaw Victoria, and is available at http://vimeo.com/9287294. For more on economics and co-operatives, an article by Michael M'Gonigle is available at www.countercurrents.org/gonigle110210.htm, which includes the comment "...This year, the Nobel Prize in Economics went to Elinor Ostrom for her work in showing just how such a commons economy operates. Revitalizing the commons (and it is a basic part of eco-conversion) would draw on a plethora of global initiatives, from local currencies to worker co-operatives." More about Elinor Ostrom's research on the commons is available at http://nobelprize.org/nobel_prizes/economics/laureates/2009/info.pdf. |

Season 1 - CFUV
Vancouver Co-op Radio (CFRO)
February 7th, 2008, Each for All began broadcasting at Vancouver Co-op Radio. Robin Puga produces and hosts.
Victoria Community / Campus Radio (CFUV)
May 4th, 2006, Each For All began broadcasting on CFUV at the University of Victoria. Getting off the ground was a little rough but after a few weeks we were aloft and soaring. Robin was a little scared that his "stressed-out voice" sounded too much like Kermit the Frog for the first few shows, but once he was comfortable using the mixing board everything was good. Eryk Martin was sure to always bring his great enthusiasm and great questions.
The show is now produced and hosted by LIndsay Kearns, Colin Dower, and Brian Mason.
